The summer of 2017 will include an exciting opportunity with the Smithsonian Institution’s online platform to incorporate kid-friendly technology activities using smart phones and tables to build bridges of mutual respect and understanding of the diversity of American and world cultures.
Beginning June 5 – July 27, 2017, TeCo Theatrical Productions, Inc. will offer an eight week, immersive, cultural enrichment camp at the Bishop Arts Theatre Center. Students will study one-on-one attention with Master Teaching Artists and learn a myriad of skills including:
- music, art, dance, and theatre,(photos)
- life skills with community partners (e.g. anti-bullying, financial literacy, environmentally-friendly workshops, etc.)
- a literacy component where our “book of the week” informs the art created in classroom sessions
- digital activities utilizing various Smithsonian cultural centers online platforms
Only 50 applications will be accepted on a first-come, first serve basis
*Camp is open to children ages 6 to 12 years old.
*Tuition is $75 per week and must be paid in full by May 26, 2017 – Scholarships are available. No refunds or exchanges.
*A $55 application fee is required to reserve a place in this fun-packed, high energy, enrichment program.
*Camp hours are from 7AM to 5PM, Monday through Thursday and culminates with a production by camp participants on 7/22 at 2:30 at the Dallas City Performance Hall.
