The safety of our staff, artists, and guests continues to be one of our primary concerns here at Bishop Arts Theatre Center. In light of Covid-19 pandemic, we have upgraded our venue to meet CDC safety protocols to safely reopen and welcome audiences back to the theatre. Working alongside Dallas arts organizations, we relied on the science and top infectious disease experts at UT Southwestern Medical Center to shape our guidelines.
All staff members are fully vaccinated, however, our mask mandate remains firmly in place. We have procured the services of a commercial janitorial company to undergo deep cleaning protocols on a weekly basis. In addition, an electrostatic disinfectant device is used in between performances. As audiences return to our lobby, you will be greeted by our Turing Video Thermal Body Scanner to take your temperature. Touchless hand sanitizing stations have been installed throughout the building, as well UV-C units to mitigate the spread of viruses and kill 99.7% of bacteria and pathogens – three in our theatre, three in each dressing room, and one backstage – to keep our artists and audiences safe. Bilingual signage on handwashing protocols has been added to all restrooms, and a Certified Covid Safety Compliance Officer will be hired to ensure our guidelines are enforced. Our newest upgrade is an air purification system that has been installed in our HVAC system to improve indoor air quality.
We acknowledge recent CDC recommendations on mask-wearing and will announce any updates to our policies as these decisions are made. However, masks are currently required at Bishop Arts Theatre Center. Please review our Code of Conduct below.
